Our Process

Chocolate

Classic Roasters is an artisan roaster, family run company, located in Northern Michigan. Dedicated to the highest level of quality, sourcing all products to assure the very best of organic materials, to produce fine chocolate. The process of making bean to bar chocolate is very involved and time consuming. Classic Roasters handcrafts all products on site and develops the extreme flavors through careful slow roasting to unleash the flavors locked within the cacao. Using granite melangers, the cacao is ground and conched for some 40 hours to reduce the nib down to a mouth pleasing 8 - 10 microns in size.

Coffee

Starting with high quality organic, single origin beans, each batch of coffee is slow roasted to develop the subtle flavors of the rich coffee bean. Roasting in small batches assures for dedicated attention to the process, assuring maximum time during the roast to bring out the caramelized nutty flavors with citrus undertones. Artisan roasting is an art form that results in flavor developed coffee that is second to none. Every batch is roasted to the same exact standard of excellence to assure the flavor remains the same from day to day.
